About Dr. Richard Meldrum
Dr. Meldrum was born and raised in Ann Arbor, attended Butler University in Indianapolis Indiana on a football scholarship, and was admitted to the University of Michigan Dental School at age 19. After graduation from Dental school, at the suggestion of his Michigan professors, Dr. Meldrum enrolled in the Orthodontic postgraduate program at the University of Montreal. At Montreal, Dr. Meldrum won the highest student award given by the American Association of Orthodontists, the Milo Hellman First Research Award. After completing orthodontic school, Dr. Meldrum returned to Michigan and became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, and also started his orthodontic practice in Farmington on Orchard Lake Rd.
Dr. Meldrum holds an American Board of Orthodontics certification, an Omicron Kappa Upsilon academic membership, and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Michigan Orthodontic Society, the Great Lakes Orthodontic Society, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Oakland County Dental Society. Dr. Meldrum is married to Maria, and has two young adult daughters. In his spare time he teaches Spinning, Yoga, and Pilates at Lifetime Fitness.
